This Archaeology Day is for practitioners, professionals and especially members of the public, and will include highlights from a wide range of archaeological projects undertaken in Greater Manchester over the last year.

There will be opportunities to ask questions
During lunch there will be an opportunity to view the Greater Manchester Historic Environment Record database (run by GMAAS) and exhibitions by CfAA and local archaeology societies, plus book stalls
New publications in the Greater Manchester’s Past Revealed Series will be available on the day, where attendees can collect one of each, completely complimentary.
Dotted around the ground floor and lower ground floor of the Peel Building, will be archaeology displays by heritage groups. You will have the opportunity to browse and buy archaeology books and equipment, explore locally excavated artefacts, and discover what our local societies have been up to this year.
Refreshments will be provided but unfortunately NOT lunch. You can bring your own lunch and we will provide a lunch area for you. Alternatively, local cafes or pubs, including the Art Gallery and Museum café adjacent to the venue, the Old Pint Pot pub (Adelphi St, M3 6EN) or other venues a 10-minute walk away on Chapel Street.
The Archaeology Day 2019 will be taking place as usual in the wonderful setting of the Peel Building, situated on The Crescent, within the University of Salford campus
